Please join us on Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11 for an event focussed on helping us as a community learn more about how church is changing and how we can change for the better. Kimberly Sweeney from Courageous Faith Consulting will be our facilitator for this even.

The Power of We: being a faith community that creates connections, finds inspiration, and engages the world.

As a Unitarian Universalist presence in Syracuse, we are focused on the effects we can have on the world around us, including through social action, justice, spirituality, love and mutual understanding. Join us as we re-imagine a comprehensive approach to religious education that truly embraces the understanding that the whole church is religious education. In this workshop we will:

  • Find inspiration by considering current trends, challenges and opportunities in religious education
  • explore the ways that being in multigenerational community can both create connections and have a lasting impact for our children and adults
  • articulate what matters most to us

Casting a Vision for our Future

Building on the energy from Friday evening, we will spend the day discerning the vision and goals for the religious exploration program at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Syracuse. What are our hopes and dreams? What will the future look like as we fulfill our mission? We’ll end the afternoon with some clearly defined goals and next steps for moving forward.
