An Odyssey of Gratitude
October 27

So often the topic of gratitude is reserved for the annual Thanksgiving sermon. However I have discovered that gratitude may be the one spiritual experience that is the foundation of all faith communities, and one that is imperative to our spiritual health regardless of the beliefs we embrace.

A UU View of Sin, Atonement. and Forgiveness
October 13

The UU View is as varied as the UU’S who discuss them! However there is one significant question which applies to each that separates the Unitarian Universalists from all other faith communities. Holly will pose that ‘question’ then proceed to apply the UU answer to the submission. I invite you to guess what that question might be!

Of Place and Presence
October 6
In keeping with the monthly theme of Place and Presence, there is a distinct difference between our physical location, and our conscious presence within that location. Last weekend I visited both West Point and the 911 memorial, the effects from each place were unexpected!

The Ostrich Syndrome
September 22
There is no time in our lives when we are not growing in some direction. For our young it is growing up. For those, like myself, it is growing old. In time, we grow out of one thing and into something else. When faced with the challenges of growth, some accept the changes and challenges that growth creates. For all of us there are times when it is easier and more comforting to stick ones head in the sand thus we have The Ostrich Syndrome, which is something we have all experienced and that too creates growth and change whether we choose it or not!

Practical Heresies and the Philosophies of Our Faith
September 15
This sermon will NOT explore the names, and dates of our early leaders, but will take a look at the myriad of ideas and off shoots of religious sects that popped up in response to the absolute authority of early church dogmas. This is a fascinating sobering and somewhat humorous journey into our sordid past!
